Happy Halloween!
Halloween is celebrated by many of us, children and adults. Actually, anyone who likes dressing up for fun truly enjoys Halloween. However, whether we celebrate it or not, we all have to be very careful on October 31, especially if driving between 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Don’t forget to slow down and be alert, especially in residential neighborhoods. Children are excited on Halloween and they may move in unpredictable ways.
If you have children under 12, they should be accompanied by an adult while trick-or-treating. Older children who are trick-or-treating on their own should carry a cell phone, a flash light and be advised to only go to houses with porch lights on and to walk sidewalks. They should also know to stick to familiar areas that are well lit and, ideally, be trick-or-treating in groups.
If you don’t have kids but love to welcome that little bunch of monsters on Halloween, make sure your sidewalks are clear and that your lights are on. If you have pets, do not forget to restrain them and try using a tea light inside your carved pumpkin instead of candles.
Think safety, and have fun! Happy Halloween!
