Mental Health in the Workplace Clinic
From May 25 to 27, 2016, the Ontario/Nunavut region’s Regional Field Coordinators, Teresa Morgan and Ryan Winger, organized a Mental Health in the Workplace (MHW)Clinic. This learning event was divided in two segments.
The first segment of the Clinic was for the facilitators’ certification in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). The Mental Health Commission of Canada’s (MHCC) two-day training was provided by Rachel Besharah, JLP Program Officer (Union). The MHFA is a prerequisite for anyone wishing to facilitate the MHW workshop.
The MHCC training was followed by a session to increase facilitators’ awareness and comfort when dealing with the content and methodology of the MHW kit. This one-day session was facilitated by Teresa Morgan and Ryan Winger.
A group of 19 facilitators participated in the Clinic: Steven Albin, Brian Benson, Geraldine Donlin, Marten Dykstra, Juanita Edwards, Andrea Grant, Alejandra Gutierrez, Sheila Karasiewicz, Shaun Larocque, Michele Liddy-Brooks, Annette Mastracci, Andria Meskauskas, David Moore, Sheri Robinson, Paul Samson, Rosemarie Smith-Gimblett, Andy Sromek, Heather Sutton, Mattie Thillai.
