A writer at the Joint Learning Program

Sonny Moran, a Joint Learning Program (JLP) facilitator (union) has written a non-fiction book titled Captains of Concrete about the first North American self-propelled ship to be made of concrete. "Various groups have asked me to speak about my book in my free time, and the JLP training I received as a facilitator has assisted me a great deal in my public speaking engagements." says Sonny.

Ila Murphy received an award

Ila Murphy, Joint Learning Program Co-Director (employer) for several years, was awarded recently the Michelle C. Comeau Human Resources Leadership Award.

This award recognizes individuals who have made a significant contribution to the advancement of human resources throughout their careers.

A Joint Learning Program Facilitator Orientation Session in Charlottetown

Lynn Jones and Angela Léger, Joint Learning Program (JLP) Atlantic Regional Field Coordinators introduced eighteen new JLP Facilitators. Lisle Clarke, Patricia Williams, Kathleen Coady, Debi Buell, Theaston White, Moira Burhoe, Cynthia Gay, Seth Muise, Beth Campbell, Nancy Herve, Don McMahon, Keith Parsons,Debbie Bryan, Carol Richard, Linda Nelson, Donna Rodgers-Grouchy, Lucille LeBlanc, and Beryl MacNeill have joined the team of JLP Facilitators in the Atlantic Region.

In response to the growing number of strategic partnerships between departments and the JLP in the Atlantic region, this orientation was held to increase the compliment of facilitators within departments that have a signed memorandum of understanding with the JLP. These new facilitators will have opportunities to co-facilitate workshops both within their departments and inter-departmentally throughout the region.

This orientation was held in Charlottetown from January 18 to 22, 2010.
