The Joint Learning Program reaches the 2,000th workshop today!
Congratulations to the Ontario Federal Council and the Public Service Alliance of Canada Ontario Regional Council who are participating under a joint initiative in a Duty to Accommodate: Building an Inclusive Workplace workshop in Timmons, Ontario. At the same time congratulations go to participants in the Department of National Defence (DND) who are participating in the two-day Respecting Differences and Anti-discrimination workshop in Halifax, Nova Scotia as a result of regional DND union and management undertaking this initiative through a Memorandum of Understanding with the Joint Learning Program.
It is an exciting time for the JLP with workshop delivery continually increasing. It took 40 months from January 2007 to March 2010 to reach the 1000th workshop. Due to the success and uptake of the workshops the 2000th workshop was reached in just 30 months between April 2010 and October 2012.
The 2000th workshop also happened at the same time as an Orientation Session is taking place in Halifax, Nova Scotia where 18 union and employer facilitators are being trained to deliver workshops to help meet the current demand.
